This Allegro is the first movement of the Sonatina in F Major, Hob. XVI:9, Landon 3 by Franz Joseph Haydn.

This sonata - also called Divertimento - was originally composed for the harpsichord, but it is also very well suited to the piano.

It contains three movements :

Allegro in F Major
Menuet & Trio in F Major
Scherzo in F Major

This score contains the first movement.

Please note that this score contains suggestions for playing the ornaments (in this case, trills and appoggiaturas) in accordance with the performance practice of the Classical period.

In particular, the keyboard player must remember that all ornaments begin ON the beat, and that trills begin on the upper auxiliary note.

In measure 15, we suggest adding a B natural appoggiatura in the right hand, for the sake of uniformity with measure 42.

Also, we suggest adding the lower F to the chord in measure 29, for the sake of uniformity with measure 1.
