This Prélude in C minor, Op. 28, No. 20, CT 185 by Frédéric Chopin is the twentieth of the Vingt-quatre Préludes pour le Piano, Op. 28, CT 166-189.With only 13 measures, it is a concise but very expressive prelude.
Please note that in measure 3, right-hand, fourth beat, neither the autograph nor the original editions show Eb4.
However, the editors of the Oxford edition maintain that Chopin himself added a flat sign to the E4 in a copy of this prelude belonging to one of his pupils.
We have chosen this latter version for our edition, as it is the one most often performed by pianists.
This Prélude in C minor, Op. 28, No. 20, CT 185 is appropriate for Grade 6 piano students.
