Source : Franz Wohlfahrt, Studies Opus 45.
Wohlfahrt composed these Studies Opus 45 for the violin, and a transcription for the viola also exists.
These Studies Opus 45 by Wohlfahrt are often among the first ones studied by young violinists and violists.
Wohlfahrt's Study Opus 45, No. 51 is an study of finger action to be played in the first three positions.
It is very important that the left-hand fingers fall vertically on the string and with great evenness. The hand should remain relaxed and quiet, and the fingers should be very close to the strings at all times. Especially, the little finger (pinky) should always remain above the strings.
