Wohlfahrt composed these Studies Opus 45 for the violin, and a transcription for the viola also exists.
These Studies Opus 45 by Wohlfahrt are often among the first ones studied by young violinists and violists.
This Study Op. 45, No. 13 by Wohlfahrt is made up entirely of the rhythmic pattern one dotted half note, four sixteenth notes.
It is to be practiced both with whole bows on the dotted half note and very short strokes on the sixteenth notes (either at the tip or at the frog).
