This study is a must for every violin student! It is to be practiced with a great variety of bowing patterns, in all parts of the bow.
The violinist should try to keep the fingers close to the fingerboard as he plays this study.
In particular, the fourth finger should remain above the strings at all times.
Furthermore, it is good idea to use the fourth finger instead of the open strings as often as possible, in order to develop a good position of the left hand.
