This Study Op. 45, No. 40 by Franz Wohlfahrt is a study of ricochet or springing bow.

It is to be played in the first and third positions.

It is an excellent study for introducing the violin student to the more difficult springing bow technique, also known as ricochet.

It is a good idea to practice ricochet on the open strings at first, and then with simple scales before attempting to play this study.
