This Study Op. 45, No. 39 by Franz Wohlfahrt is a study of long legato phrases using the whole bow.

It is to be played in the first and third positions.

In order to ensure a good intonation, the violin student might want to start by playing this study entirely in détaché, at a slower tempo.

Then, once the intonation has been secured, play the study with the slurs, making sure to use the whole bow.
