Seitz, Friedrich

Friedrich (or Fritz) Seitz (12 June 1848, Günthersleben-Wechmar, Thuringia – 22 May 1918) was a German violinist and composer of the Romantic period.
He composed chamber music but is best remembered for his student concertos for the violin.
His violin concertos are highly romantic and lyrical in character, and explore very efficiently the various aspects of violin technique.
For this reason , their pedagogical value his highly recognized, and they are widely used in violin methods throughout the world (such as the Suzuki Method).
