Sautille bowing is a difficult bowing stroke resembling a rapid spiccato, but very close to the string and with a crisp popping sound.

Sautille is played at the balance point of the bow.

Sautille requires finger flexibility in the right hand, together with wrist action, while the elbow remains quiet.
