Mendelssohn, Felix

German composer, pianist and conductor of the early Romantic period.
His Lieder ohne Worte (Songs without Words - Chants sans paroles) are a series of eight books, each one containing six songs. There are thus 48 Songs Without Words.
They are short and lyrical works for solo piano, typical of the Romantic tradition.
