Program Notes on Nearer, my God, to Thee by Mason :

This score is an arrangement of the famous 19th century hymn Nearer, my God, to Thee for violin duet (two violins) with piano accompaniment.

It is set in the key of G major.

The Violin I part is to be played in the third position, although it can also be played in the first position if the violinist so desires.

The Violin II part uses double stops and is thus to be played by the violin teacher or by a more advanced violinist.
