This sheet music is the instrumental version of Gounod's Ave Maria transcribed for alto saxophone and piano in the key of E flat Major.

It is based on the original sheet music edition for violin first published in 1853.

Gounod entitled this instrumental version Méditation sur le 1er Prélude de J.S. Bach [Meditation on the first Prelude of J.S. Bach].

Please note that in measure 36 of the saxophone part, we have used the notes from the 1859 version for voice and piano.
