Panis Angelicus

Panis Angelicus fit panis hominum,
Dat panis caelicus figuris terminum.
O res mirabilis! Manducat Dominum
Pauper, pauper, servus et humilis,
Pauper, pauper, servus et humilis.

The Bread of Angels

(translated from the Latin by M.A. Caux)

The Bread of Angels becomes bread for mankind,
Hence the heavenly Bread puts an end to all symbols.
O miraculous thing! The body of the Lord will nourish
The poor, the slave and the humble,
The poor, the slave and the humble.
