The French folk song Jamais on n'a vu [Never did we see] has been a favorite for generations of French-speaking children!

Its funny lyrics explain that we shall never see a little dog wearing eye-glasses, nor will we see a mouse's tail in a cat's ear!

This popular folk song has a simple A-B-A-C musical form :

Phrase A : measures 1-6
Phrase B : measures 7-10
Phrase A : measures 11-16
Phrase C : measures 17-22

This lively and funny folk song is well-suited for beginning violin students.

It is to be played in the first position, on the A and E strings.
