Charles Dancla's Study Opus 84, No. 16 is a thourough and challenging study of staccato bowing.
It is in fact made up of two studies, each one preceded with an exercise.
The first of these studies is written in eighth notes and is thus a bit slower than the second study, which is written in sixteenth notes.
In both cases, the player must be careful to give each staccato note a crisp bite with the wrist, followed by a complete release of the right hand.
The bow must remain on the string at all times.
