Charles Dancla's Study Opus 84, No. 13 is a study of martele and three-note, up-bow staccato bowing.
It is preceded with an exercise combining martele and string crossings in broken octaves.
This Study in F Major, Op. 84, No. 13 for the violin is to be played entirely in the first position.
The martelé bowing should be executed in the upper half of the bow, and each note should have a crisp bite followed by a complete release of the right hand.
While playing the broken octaves (in the preparatory exercise), be sure to leave the fingers on the string as much as possible.
