Muzio Clementi (January 23, 1752 in Rome - March 10, 1832)

was a pianist and composer of the Classical period.

He is acknowledged as being the first composer to have written specifically for the piano.

He remains famous for his Sonatinas and piano studies,

among which the celebrated Gradus ad Parnassum.
