Johann Heinrich Buttstett [Buttstädt, Buttstedt] (25 April 1666 - 1 December 1727)

was a German Baroque composer, theorist and organist.

A student of Johann Pachelbel, he was one of the last major representatives of the south German organ tradition.

Buttstett is best remembered for his famous dispute with the more progressive music theorist Johann Mattheson.
