Buttstett, Johann Heinrich
1666-1727
Johann Heinrich Buttstett was a German organist, theorist and composer of the Baroque period.
A student of Johann Pachelbel, he was one of the last major representatives of the south German organ tradition.
Buttstett is best remembered for his famous dispute with the more progressive music theorist Johann Mattheson.
