These Six Little Preludes, BWV 939-943 and 999 by Johann Sebastian Bach were composed during the Baroque period.

These Six Little Preludes have been preserved, without special title, in a copy formerly in the possession of the Thuringian cantor Johann Peter Kellner (1705-1772).

Kellner was a personal friend of Johann Sebastian Bach, and one of his most devoted disciples and admirers.

We are indebted to him for the preservation of hundreds of Bach's works.
