Please note that this score contains suggestions for playing the ornaments in accordance with Baroque performance practice :
- Measure 15, first beat : Accent and trill, where the first note of the trill (i.e. the upper note) is prolonged
- Meausre 15, third beat : Mordent which begins on the main note and is played very quickly, with a incisive character. Notice that in the present case, the editor suggests a double mordent
- Measure 16, first beat : Turn, which is to be played quite rapidly
- Measure 16, second beat : Doppelt-cadence, a form of trill beginning with a turn, here starting on the lower auxiliary note
- Measure 33, first beat : Mordent and turn, this time with a single mordent
- Measure 33, second beat : Doppelt-cadence this time beginning on the upper auxiliary note
Notice also that, in accordance with Baroque performance practice, we suggest that dotted quarter notes be played double-dotted, the following eighth note thus becoming a sixteenth note.
