Program Notes :

This 22-measure invention has the following musical form :

- Mm. 1-6 : Theme exposed by the right hand (in C Major)

- Mm. 7-8 : Theme answered by the left hand (in the dominant, G Major)

- Mm. 9-22 : Theme re-exposed but in inverted form, and developed into a counterpoint between the two voices until the final cadence.

Please note that this score contains suggestions for playing the ornaments (in this case, trills and mordents) in accordance with Baroque performance practice.
